Congratulations! Bringing your new bundle in to this world is magic and undoubtably one of the most incredible moments of your growing family’s life! Unfortunately you are unable to book a newborn photographer due to the circumstances, and my heart aches for you. You should not have to miss out on capturing those precious fleeting moments! That’s where I hope this blog can help you. I actually began my photography career having purchased a DSLR camera and lens kit to capture my first child’s newborn images at home. So, rest assured if I can do it, you can!
My goal is to to share with you some tips and ideas to help you create beautiful images of your own baby and to make this experience an enjoyable and stress-free one for the both of you. These tips are for organic/lifestyle images, as those are the safest for first timers. I want to emphasize that newborn images that are done on bean bags with complex poses or within props like buckets should be done by a professional for safety reasons. Even professionals use a spotter while capturing those images and have hours upon hours of practice with dolls and watching educational videos. With that being said, capturing lifestyle images of your precious little one is NOT a second place option. Lots of photographer use this style by choice anyway! With a little bit of practice and the tips below, they can be just as beautiful! You CAN do it!!
